Privacy Policy

The short version

Mnemosa is built on a simple principle: your journal is yours. We don't collect, store, or transmit your entries. Everything lives on your device — period.

Data we collect

None of your journal data. Your voice recordings, transcriptions, and AI-generated insights never leave your device. There is no cloud sync, no server-side processing, and no analytics on your content.

We may collect minimal, anonymous usage analytics (e.g. app opens, crash reports) to improve stability. These contain no personal content and cannot be linked back to you.

Voice & transcription

Voice-to-text transcription happens entirely on your device using on-device speech recognition. Audio is never uploaded to any server. Recordings are discarded after transcription unless you choose to keep them.

AI & RAG processing

The AI features in Mnemosa — including search, pattern recognition, and insights — are powered by on-device models. Your entries are indexed locally using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). No data is sent to external AI services.

Data storage

All journal entries are stored in your device's local storage. If you delete the app, your data is permanently removed. We have no backups of your data because we never had access to it.

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third party. There are no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics with access to your content.

Your rights

Since your data never leaves your device, you have full control at all times. You can delete individual entries or all data by removing the app. There is nothing for us to delete on our end because we never had it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll notify you through the app. Our core commitment — your data stays on your device — will never change.
